Yahoo Discussion Lists

I host a couple of discussion lists on Yahoo.

Early Canine Education is an innovative group of breeders interested in enhancing the affective, cognitive, and physical development of puppies from conception to 12 months old. Our goal is to develop methods to stimulate and educate puppies so that they become confident and healthy adult companions. We encourage breeders to keep litters intact 12 weeks so that the puppies have more opportunity to learn from their littermates, canine mothers, and breeder.

PennHIPLabs. Pennsylvania Hip Improvement Program (PennHIP) is an x-ray technique for assessing the quality of the canine hip and quantitatively measuring canine hip laxity. Research has demonstrated the utility of PennHIP in predicting osteoarthritis of the hip. Osteoarthritic is also known as degenerative joint disease (DJD) and is associated with canine hip dysplasia (CHD).

Courses on Dogs

I have been teaching some night courses at Duke University, to help others learn about dogs as I have done.

I base much of my material on information from Norwegian dog-trainer Turid Rugaas, and skills I learned for training from Bob and Marian Bailey, of Hot Springs, Arkansas.

List of courses
  • Uncovering The Inner Dog
  • Liberating The Inner Dog
  • Soothing The Inner Dog

She's telling me I have to write something to put here.

But because Lily Rose is, in a way, her dog, I can get away with delaying things just a bit, while I watch over this beloved dog of mine (okay, and hers too) as she - Lily Rose, not Carol - engenders her new litter and Conrad and I give her our helping hands.

All right Kate, now don't Push this Procrastination forever, right? Thanks! - from Carol. Oh P.S. Give Lily Rose giant hugs from me; after all, she's partly my dog.
